Tree Care and Removal for Homes in Apex, North Carolina

About 19 miles of highway separate our equipment yard on Westgate Road in northwest Raleigh from downtown Apex. Timberman is a family-owned tree service, in tree work since 2009, with owners who bring 40+ years of experience. Along with Cary and Raleigh, this is the town most of our crane removal jobs come from.

Roughly 45 percent of the homes in town were built in 2010 or later, and a lot of them sit in subdivisions with manicured lawns and HOA standards. A rutted yard or cracked walkway is hard to miss there. So we do not accept payment until after you have verified our work and you are satisfied.

The town lies in Wake County, with part of the town reaching into Chatham County, between Cary to the north and Holly Springs to the south. Downtown, the Apex Historic District holds buildings from 1870 to 1940. The Villages of Apex dates to the late 1990s and Beaver Creek to the early 2000s. The Preserve at White Oak Creek, built from 2015 on, backs onto wooded conservation areas.

Apex Tree Service: What Our Crew Handles

With so many Apex homes under 20 years old, every job below ends with you verifying the work before we accept payment.

Local Tree Service Expertise in Apex

Most of this town was built in the last 25 years, and that growth shapes a lot of the tree work we do here.

Trees Kept Through Construction

Census estimates show about 7 in 10 Apex homes were built in 2000 or later. When a builder grades a lot, the trees left standing can lose roots, and NC State Extension notes that cutting or filling around roots will weaken and eventually kill them. That decline often shows up after the family has moved in. Carlos looks at the base and the crown during the walkthrough before recommending pruning or removal.

Canopy Loss and New Tree Rules

A 2023 countywide assessment found Apex lost about 15 percent of its tree canopy between 2010 and 2020, and in 2026 the town began weighing new tree protections. Because those rules may change, Carlos confirms what applies to your lot, and to your HOA, before a date goes on the calendar.

Wooded Backdrops and Conservation Edges

Some newer subdivisions back right onto woods. The Preserve at White Oak Creek, built from 2015 on, puts homes against wooded backdrops and conservation areas. When a tree at the back of that kind of lot leans toward the house or fence, the question is where the wood can go. Our crane can lift sections over the fence rather than dragging them across a finished lawn.

Ice Loads on Overhanging Limbs

In December 2002, parts of the Piedmont collected up to an inch of ice, and almost half a million customers in the Triangle lost power as limbs and lines came down. A limb hanging over your roof or driveway carries that weight right where it does the most harm. Trimming it back before winter is the simple fix.

What Apex Homeowners Get From Timberman Tree Service

Nothing Owed Until It's Right

We do not accept payment until after you have verified the finished job with us and you are satisfied. If our crane or trucks damaged a newer subdivision walkway or fence, we repair it first. The guarantee is printed in the letter we send before your walkthrough.

A 26-Minute Drive Back

Our Westgate Road yard in northwest Raleigh is roughly 19 miles away. When something needs attention after the job, the crew that did the work drives back down and handles it.

One of Our Crane Towns

Most of our crane removal work comes from Apex, Cary and Raleigh. A large tree behind a house here, over a fence or beside a patio, is a job we plan the crane and crew around.

Estimates From a Real Walkthrough

Carlos sees your lot in person, whether it is a 1990s home near downtown or a new build against the woods. His estimate reaches you by text or email within 6 to 24 hours.
