Tree Care for Homes in Wake and Franklin Counties Around Wake Forest

Timberman Tree Service is a family-owned crew based between Raleigh and Zebulon. Our office in Zebulon is about 25 minutes from Wake Forest. The crane and chippers roll out of our equipment yard on Westgate Road in northwest Raleigh, a little under half an hour out. The owners have been in tree work since 2009.

Most houses here are newer than visitors expect. Census survey estimates put roughly 73 percent of local homes at 2000 or later. A typical job, then, sits in a planned subdivision with a neighbor close by and a homeowners association watching the street. So we run the job quietly. Crews talk over headsets, hard hats stay on, signs go out at the curb, and chips go into the truck instead of across the lawn.

The town runs from the Wake Forest Historic District, with houses dating from about 1890 to 1953, out past the Franklin County line toward Youngsville. In between are Heritage, where the older sections have bigger lots and more mature trees, and newer builds like Holding Village.

Tree Removal

A dead or leaning tree in a tight subdivision yard comes down in sections and leaves on our trucks. Regular removals usually take 2 to 3 hours on site.

Crane Tree Removal

When a big tree between two houses cannot be dropped, the crane lifts pieces off the top and sets them down safely. On lots with little side yard, it is often the cleanest option.

Local Tree Service Expertise in Wake Forest

Four local conditions shape how a tree job goes in Wake Forest before the first cut is made.

HOA Approval Comes Before the Saw

Heritage has a master homeowners association, and its posted property standards say removal of any tree at a residence needs prior approval from the architectural review committee. Other subdivisions in town write their own versions. Tree rules also differ between the town and individual HOAs. We look into what applies to your address and book the work once your approval letter is in hand.

Tight Side Yards in Newer Subdivisions

About two out of three houses in town went up in the 2000s or 2010s. Many sit on lots where a mature tree left standing during construction now leans over two roofs at once. When there is no room to drop it, the crane lifts sections out from the top and sets them on the driveway, where the crew cuts and chips.

Street Trees and Older Lots Near Downtown

The Town's Urban Forestry Division looks after trees in public street rights-of-way and street tree easements, and it does not work on private trees. Near the historic district, a big trunk can stand right at that boundary. Before quoting, we confirm whose tree it is. Older driveways matter too: a crane is heavy, and we point out cracked concrete before setting up.

Winter Pruning and Summer Storms

On July 21, 2026, a tree came down on Jenkins Road, broke a utility pole, and left about 130 Wake Forest Power customers without electricity. Limbs hanging over lines and roofs are worth a look before storm season. Town guidance says live branches are best pruned in winter while trees are dormant. Plan structural pruning for the cold months, and deal with dead wood whenever you spot it.

Why Wake Forest Families Call Timberman

A Quiet Job on a Close Street

HOA streets in Wake Forest leave little room for a noisy crew. Ours talks over headsets and puts signs out at the curb. The yard is raked and blown off before we leave.

About 25 Minutes Up the Road

Our Zebulon office is roughly 25 minutes out. That is close enough for Carlos to come out for the walkthrough in person, and close enough to come back if something needs another look.

Nothing Owed Until It Is Right

We do not accept payment until after you have verified our work and you are satisfied. We would rather make the 25-minute drive back a second time than leave a rut in your lawn.

Proof You Can Check

Our insurer inspects our job sites twice a year, and our intro letter carries workers' comp and liability certificates. Ask anyone else quoting a tree in Heritage or St. Ives for the same paperwork.
