Cranes
Cranes are only necessary in high-risk areas where a tree must be removed or trimmed and there is no safe way for the tree or branches to be dropped without damaging your property.
With five years of continuous crane experience and more than 200 crane jobs performed, Timberman Tree Service has your tree project covered without falter.
Description of How Crane Jobs Are Performed
A tree job requiring a crane needs to be done with extreme caution and absolute safety in mind. With the safety of lives and property as our main priority, we ask that customers remain outside the structure and away from the area near our crane. Four laborers wearing headsets assist the crane operator, providing eyes and ears in every direction.
As the climber cuts each piece of the tree and secures the crane cable to it, the crane lifts that section under meticulous supervision. The section is lifted above the structure and carefully placed on the grapple of our machine, which guides it directly to the landing area. There, it is cut into pieces, chipped and taken away.
We perform this process daily. The time and caution we put in place on our first crane removal are the same time and caution we bring to every removal. You have given Timberman Tree Service the privilege of handling your tree removal, and we do not take that trust lightly. Prayers are always prayed. You trust us, and we trust the good Lord above.
01
Setting Up the Crane
We establish a clear work zone and ask customers to remain away from the structure and the area near the crane. Everyone on the crew wears a hard hat, and four laborers communicate with the crane operator by headset so there are eyes and ears in every direction.
02
Rigging Each Section and Lifting It Out
As the climber cuts each piece and secures the crane cable to it, the crane lifts the section under meticulous supervision. Each piece travels above the structure and into a controlled landing area, with every movement communicated over the crew's headsets.
03
Processing on the Ground
Each lifted section is carefully placed on the grapple of our machine and guided directly to the ground. The crew cuts it into manageable pieces, chips the brush and loads the wood to be taken away.

An Honest Assessment Before Work Begins
After a free, no-obligation quote has been scheduled, owner Carlos will personally come out and assess your tree removal needs. Carlos will share his professional opinion about every hazard, danger and potential unexpected issue. At every quote, it is our duty to enlighten and educate our customers about exactly how the project will unfold.
Why Raleigh Calls Timberman for Crane Tree Removal
Our Own Crane and Crew
The crane sits in our equipment yard alongside six dump trucks and two chippers. The same crew rigs, lifts and cleans up, so the people on your job are used to working together.
Every Lift Called by Headset
Operator, climber and ground crew stay on headsets for the whole job. Nobody shouts across your neighborhood, and no section moves until the lift is called.
Straight Talk About Your Driveway
If crane weight could crack an older driveway, you hear it at the walkthrough. Anything the crane damages is repaired before we accept payment.
Four to Five Hours, Most Jobs
Crane removals usually wrap up in four to five hours, cleanup included. The crane leaves the same day and your street is back to normal.
Insured Down to the Equipment
Workers' compensation, liability and equipment insurance are all in place, and the proof arrives in your introduction letter. On a crane job, that equipment coverage matters.
What to Expect During Your Crane Tree Removal
A clear plan from the first conversation through the final walkthrough.
Access Walkthrough
Carlos checks where the crane can park, any overhead lines, the landing area, and whether your driveway can carry the load.
Estimate With the Plan
Within 6 to 24 hours, a text or email gives you the price, along with any risk to paving we spotted at the walkthrough.
Setup and Work Zone
The crane is positioned and leveled, signage goes up, and the crew connects by headset. We ask that cars and people stay clear.
Section-by-Section Lifts
Each rigged section is lifted over the house and set down in the landing area, where it is chipped or loaded right away.
Walk the Property, Then Pay
Most jobs finish in four to five hours. We walk everything with you, repair any damage, and do not accept payment until you have verified our work and you are satisfied.
How Much Does Crane Tree Removal Cost in Raleigh?
Crane tree removal is priced per job after a walkthrough. The main variables are the tree's height and weight, the number of lifts it will take, how far the crane has to reach from where it can park, and how much the setting limits the crew on the ground.
A crane job generally costs more than a climbing removal of the same tree, because of the machine and the extra crew. For a tree over a house, it is often the safer option, and sometimes the only one.
